Deftones – Beauty School
I dig this linear groove that Abe Cunningham plays on the track “Beauty School”. It’s a simple pattern of (KRKLR RKLR) placing all the hats (R) on the “and’s”, the kicks are on the “1 — ah, and the ah of 3. Snare (L) is on 2 and 4. It takes a second to get the feel right because it’s lightly swung.
