Lesson Of The Week: Practice Rudiments To A Song. Meshuggah – Bleed (Rudimental Improv)

Was looking for a track the other day to use for practice. Something that I could work on diddles and doubles…. What better track than “Bleed” by Meshuggah?! The main rhythm at the beginning is based off of 32nd notes which allows me to play a diddles between the hands such as (RR L R, LL R L). Most of the rest is just improvisation between diddles and doubles.

Try to find a song and apply rudiments to the groove. It can add some excitement to your practice routine!
